About company
In level 5, English is taught in four instead of three hours (lessons last 60 minutes each). This additional lesson serves, among other things, to harmonize the English knowledge and skills you have brought with you. As early as level 5, bilingual teaching units (modules) appear in at least one subject (e.g. music). The children also take part in a one-hour scientific project lesson (in German).
In level 6, English language skills are promoted in addition to the bilingual teaching units in music lessons through English-language modules in geography lessons. A supplementary lesson is available for this. Other subjects such as biology can also be enriched with individual small bilingual elements.
In the intermediate level (grades 7 to 9) the additional support is continued. Bilingual subjects are geography, modular from level 6, biology from level 8 and history from level 9, and other subjects such as music, where modular bilingual lessons are offered.
For the evaluation of student performance in subjects taught bilingually, it is primarily the subject-specific, i.e. not the linguistic, performance that is used.
The bilingual educational path chosen in this way can be continued in the upper level up to the coveted “bilingual note” on the Abitur certificate if English is chosen as the advanced course and one of the subjects that were taught bilingually as the third or fourth Abitur subject.
