The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University was founded in September 1928, and its predecessor was the former Affiliated Hospital of the Medical College of Henan University.
Moved to Zhengzhou from Kaifeng in 1958 and changed its name to the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan Medical College.
In 1985, it was renamed the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan Medical University.
In 2000, the former Zhengzhou University and other three universities were merged and named as the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University. At present, the hospital covers an area of more than 300 acres, with a construction area of 260,000 square meters.
The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University is an advanced medical institution with a long history. It was founded in 1928 in the ancient city of Kaifeng, formerly known as "The Affiliated Hospital of the National Henan University School of Medicine". At that time, there were 28 bungalows, 50 beds, and 28 employees. Due to the war, it moved to Songshan, Hanzhong and Suzhou successively. Kaifeng was liberated in 1948 and the hospital was reborn.
Zhengzhou was established independently in 1952 by Henan Medical College. The hospital was named "The First Affiliated Hospital of Henan Medical College". In 1958, it moved from Kaifeng to Zhengzhou and expanded its scale. In 1985, it was changed to "The First Affiliated Hospital of Henan Medical University and the First Clinical Medical College".
