Postgraduate education

Postgraduate education at Beijing Jiaotong University began in 1954. In 1981 , the school became the first batch of doctoral and master's degree granting units in the country. The Graduate School was established in 1984. In 2000 , it was approved to establish a graduate school. In June 2004 , it was formally established with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It is one of the 56 graduate schools in China. In 2008 , it became one of the pilot universities for the reform of the national graduate training mechanism. In 2009 , it was established as a joint graduate training base for Beijing colleges and universities. In the same year, it became one of the contracting universities for the national construction of high-level university public graduate program. In 2010 , it was rated as a national engineering master Postgraduate education innovation colleges, in 2018 , a new engineering doctoral degree authorization category was added. The school has 21 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 33 first-level discipline master degree authorization points , and 14 professional degree authorizations including engineering doctorate, MBA , engineering master, and law master ; there are 639 doctoral supervisors and master students There are 1456 mentors , including 4 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 10 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering , and 6 members of the State Council Disciplinary Review Group ; there are currently 2818 PhD students , 8869 postgraduates, and 4467 postgraduates with professional degrees .
