The company's history began 50 years ago when the 24-year-old heating engineer Hermann Stapfer founded his specialist company on January 2, 1965. As so often, the path to self-employment started with a two-man company. While Hermann Stapfer worked on site with his first customers, his then 20-year-old girlfriend and later wife Brigitte, in addition to her permanent job as an office clerk, did the office work in his parents' house.
